Traveling Light:: Part 6 – Extras

Finding room for all the extra stuff that makes traveling more comfortable can be a struggle. Especially when you are flying carry-on, and each inch of space is essential. So I’m always narrowing down my extras to only the essentials. What’s essential for you, may not be essential for me. But these are extra essentials!.

  • Glasses case
  • Sunglasses
  • Wallet
  • Day purse
  • Thermos Water bottle [keeps hot drinks hot, and cold drinks cold]
  • Journal
  • Bible
  • Trail Mix [for when I just want the taste of home]
  • Flat mirror
  • Quick dry towel
  • Quick dry washcloth
  • Collapsable backpack
  • Collapsable messenger bag [to see this open, check out my earlier post]
  • iPhone speakers [dance party on the go!]
  • Dryer sheets [for funky smelling shoes or hotel rooms]
  • Headlamp [hands free light!]
  • Sleep sack [silky & clean, a nice luxury on a plane or a train]
  • Collapsable cup [new item! Can’t wait to use it on the road]
  • Laundry bag
  • Gallon Ziplocs [won’t take the box, just the bags for all sorts stuff!]

So there you have it! 6 blog posts of how we are packing our carry-on’s for this 5 month adventure through 4 nations in Southeast Asia! Stay tuned for the rest of the ride!

Find out how my packing system held up after 6 months on the road!
